What to expect:
We start with a free 15 minute initial consultation by phone or video to answer any questions you may have and determine fit. Research shows you will make more progress in therapy and have better results if you work well with your therapist.
If we decide we are a good fit we will schedule your initial intake.
Your time is valuable and the goal is to help you feel better and not have you be in therapy forever.
I like to meet weekly for the 1st month or so. It helps you get to know my style and for me to get to know you. After that first month we would decide together to stay weekly for a while or move to every other week. Typical length of treatment: 12-18 sessions.
My approach is a mix of processing through feelings, thoughts, and situations along with identifying practical tools and strategies you can use outside of sessions. I work from a collaborative approach based on what you want to work on in therapy.
Methods I use in therapy: An integrative approach of Mindfulness Based interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Process Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy
