We are not supposed to have this all figured out from the start or walk this journey alone.

Perinatal Mental Health Counseling

As a therapist specializing in maternal mental health counseling, I support women navigating challenges such as:

These experiences are extremely common — and highly treatable with the right support.

Many of the moms I work with are high-achieving, thoughtful women who are used to handling life well. When motherhood feels harder than expected, it can feel confusing or even shameful.

Therapy provides a space where you don’t have to carry that alone.

How therapy can help:

  • Feel less snappy or emotionally raw when your baby cries.

  • Be able to enjoy a quiet moment without guilt or racing thoughts.

  • Say “I need help” or “I need a break” without shame.

  • Feel more present with your baby—and with yourself.

  • Feel more like you again—not the “perfect mom” version, but the real, grounded, whole you.

  • Learn tools to care for yourself emotionally, even on the hard days.

My Approach to Perinatal Therapy

You don’t have to identify as a perfectionist or people-pleaser to be experiencing the impact of high expectations.

Many moms find that after having a baby, their natural tendency to care deeply, do things well, and anticipate problems turns into anxiety, overthinking, and emotional exhaustion.

I specialize in perinatal mental health therapy, which means I focus specifically on the emotional experiences that arise during pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood.

Our work together may include:

  • Understanding how hormones, sleep deprivation, and stress impact mood

  • Evidence-based tools for postpartum anxiety and intrusive thoughts

  • Trauma-informed processing of birth experiences

  • Strengthening communication between partners during early parenthood

  • Identity work around the transition into motherhood

  • Reducing perfectionism and unrealistic expectations

  • Helping moms reconnect with themselves while caring for their baby

My style is warm, conversational, and gentle. Leaving room for laughter, hard conversations, and sometimes tears.

Many moms tell me they feel relief simply being able to speak openly without fear of judgment.

Who I Work With

I primarily work with:

  • Pregnant women preparing for motherhood

  • Postpartum moms adjusting to life with a baby

  • Mothers navigating anxiety, depression, or intrusive thoughts

  • Women processing birth trauma or difficult medical experiences

  • Couples adjusting to the relationship changes that come with parenthood

  • Moms who want a safe, non-judgmental space

  • Mothers who love their children deeply but feel exhausted or lost

  • Women who tend to be high-achieving and thoughtful women who feel frustrated that they “can’t just handle this”.

If you’re wondering whether you're “struggling enough” to seek help, therapy may still be a helpful step.

Motherhood changes you.
But you don’t have to lose yourself in the process.

If you’re looking for therapy for pregnancy or postpartum mental health, I’d love to connect.

You can schedule a consultation to talk about what you're experiencing and whether this feels like the right fit.

What happens during the consultation:

It’s a 15 minute phone chat where you share a bit about what you are experiencing and what you are looking for support with.

You may also ask questions and I can share more about my approach and work with clients.

If we feel like we are a good fit, we will discuss logistics and schedule your first appointment.

What to expect after the consultation:

Appointments are 50 minutes in length and all virtual.

We start with an intake appointment. This is where I ask questions to gather background information, hear more about what you are experiencing, and we will go over my practice policies and consent forms.

During the initial intake or the following session, we will develop your goals for therapy.

During our sessions, we will work towards your therapy goals. I work collaboratively with my clients. Sessions are a mix of processing through your experience and providing practical coping tools you can use outside of sessions.

I meet weekly with clients for the first month, it helps you learn my style and it allows me to get to know you without a 2 week gap in between.

I also see clients make progress quicker when we meet weekly in the beginning. After the first month, we will decide together whether to stay weekly for a while longer or move to every other week if you are starting to feel better. Then, as you continue to meet your goals we will spread your sessions out over time and eventually close out of therapy.

Treatment length: It depends, some clients meet their goals in a few months, others it takes longer. There is no right or wrong length in therapy. I will say on average, clients meet their goals between 14-18 sessions.
